Uses, Meanings, & Practices
The full moon is Sunday, December 15 and the holidays are upon us. It need not be a dumpster fire. Here is a ritual/meditation to help prepare for it.
Full Moon Chakra Ritual: Embrace Peace During Holiday Gatherings
Preparation
• Choose a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed.
• Gather a small bowl of saltwater. (Bless it if desired.)
• Optional: Light a white or lavender candle and burn calming incense, such as sandalwood or frankincense.
Opening Invocation
Face your sacred space. Center yourself.
"That which is to my right, that which is to my left,
That which is above me, and that which is below me,
Hear my petitions and grant me strength."
Chakra Alignment Ritual
With saltwater, draw a sacred symbol of your choice (pentacle, spiral, cross, or another empowering shape) on each corresponding chakra. As you draw, visualize the associated color and recite the affirmations.
Root Chakra (Base of the spine)
• Symbol: Draw on your tailbone.
• Color: Red
• Affirmation:
"I am grounded, deep within the earth. My stance is strong. I cannot be shaken."
Sacral Chakra (Lower abdomen)
• Symbol: Draw on your lower belly.
• Color: Orange
• Affirmation:
"I am fluid like a running stream. I flow effortlessly around obstacles. I am in control of my emotions."
Solar Plexus Chakra (Upper abdomen)
• Symbol: Draw at your solar plexus.
• Color: Yellow
• Affirmation:
"I possess power and strength of will. The words and actions of others cannot sway me. I radiate vitality."
Heart Chakra (Center of chest)
• Symbol: Draw over your heart.
• Color: Green
• Affirmation:
"I am balanced in love and compassion. I embrace harmony and accept myself and others as they are."
Throat Chakra (Base of the throat)
• Symbol: Draw at your throat.
• Color: Blue
• Affirmation:
"I communicate my boundaries clearly. I react with understanding, even when communication falters."
Third Eye Chakra (Center of forehead)
• Symbol: Draw on your brow.
• Color: Indigo
• Affirmation:
"I recognize toxic patterns and respond with wisdom. My perception is open to clarity, and I see beyond the surface."
Crown Chakra (Top of the head)
• Symbol: Draw on the crown of your head.
• Color: Violet
• Affirmation:
"Divine energy flows through and around me, elevating my consciousness. I radiate peace and love, creating harmony."
Closing Affirmation
Stand in stillness and take a deep breath. Visualize the Divine energy radiating from you, forming a protective sphere of light.
"Deity grants me the peace to rise above what does not serve me. I radiate Divine love, embracing myself and others in harmony."
"It is done. So mote it be."
Tips for Enhancing the Ritual:
• Perform under moonlight for added lunar energy.
• Incorporate gemstones aligned with each chakra (e.g., garnet for Root, amethyst for Crown).
• Use corresponding essential oils or herbs to deepen your connection to the elements.
Let this practice empower you through the holidays, aligning your energy and bringing serenity into all interactions.
Blessed be!
