This Green Man Pendant, designed by Oberon Zell, is cast in bronze and inspired by the 13th century Green Man carvings in the Bamburg Cathedral. The Bamberg Green Man, who's creator is unknown, is carved into the cut end of a lopped branch of a living oak tree. The Green Man Pendant is approximately 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" long.
The Green Man is a legendary being depicted as a face made of or surrounded by leaves and plant life. Many modern Pagans use the Green Man as a symbol of seasonal renewal, rebirth, new growth that occurs every spring, and ecological awareness. In Wicca, the Green Man has often been used as a representation of the Horned God.
